Darkness.
There was a throbbing pain in my head, as well as a feeling that I'd been run down by several stagecoaches, then beaten up by the drivers. This wasn't that unusual of a way for me to begin my day, but the headache had a foreboding quality to it, unlike the headaches that when you get them, you know full well why and/or what you did.
"Hey! Are you all right? Wake up!"
I grudgingly opened my eyes, and realized I wasn't dead, like I'd thought. I was lying on the ground right in the middle of the Garnedine plaza. The one who'd spoken was a Taxn girl was standing over me, looking concerned, and nearby I could see some of the other Bakas similarly recollecting their wits.
"Uh...I'm fine. Thanks."
I attempted to stand up, but my legs and feet didn't want to just yet. I managed to drag myelf to a sitting position.
Hadn't Inyou just blown up the steam tank? Hadn't it wiped out most of the city? I frantically whippped my gaze around to-
A shiny, unexploded Steam Tank.
What had happened? The town appeared to be normal, and most of itz citizens appeared to be going about business as usual.
We still don't know that much about Neo Steam, and apparently that includes the extent of its volatility.
Maybe it generated enough force to rip a hole in space-time? I'd seen it happen before, back home...the Island Dream Anomaly, or the G-ARK catastrophe.
Ah, now there was something - my things were gone. Our lodge in the Residential District (we call it Robot House) was as we'd left it - right after we'd moved in and unpacked, on the first day we'd arrived on Rogwel.
Aki has it right, basically; we'll have to start all over.
I wonder if this a parallel universe, or the past?
Maybe I can win some money on tournament bets this week...
